Beijing (Gasgoo)- On November 13, global mobility technology company ECARX announced that, following its previous GEI sourcing nomination, it will further expand cooperation with Volkswagen Group. Under the new agreement, ECARX will provide advanced intelligent cockpit solutions—including its Antora® series computing platforms and Cloudpeak cross-domain software platform—for several Volkswagen-brand models to be sold in the Latin American market.
This marks the second collaboration project announced by ECARX and Volkswagen Group in 2025. The two parties first signed an agreement in March this year to deliver industry-leading intelligent cockpit systems for Volkswagen and Škoda models.
Under the new partnership, ECARX will equip multiple Volkswagen models launching in Latin America with intelligent cockpit solutions integrated with Google Automotive Services (GAS), powered by the Antora® 1000 computing platform as core hardware. Entry-level models that do not feature GAS will adopt the Antora® 500 platform, ensuring consistently high-quality smart cockpit experiences across the entire model lineup.
The Google Automotive Services ecosystem integrates key functions such as Google Maps navigation, Google Assistant/Gemini voice assistant, and Google Play app store, offering a rich interactive experience. Automotive OEMs typically require 12 to 18 months to complete GAS integration and certification, but ECARX—by following Google’s best practices and applying streamlined processes and tools—has shortened this cycle to just eight months, according to the company.
The Antora® 1000 is ECARX's fourth-generation scalable cross-domain computing platform, powered by the 7nm automotive-grade “StarDragon No.1” high-performance SoC developed by SiEngine. The platform delivers robust computing performance and has obtained regulatory certifications in major global markets.
ECARX's Cloudpeak cross-domain software platform is built on Android Automotive OS and Linux, offering high modularity and flexibility. It is compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and other phone-to-vehicle connectivity services, and can integrate GAS and various software ecosystems as needed. Both Antora and Cloudpeak are independently developed by ECARX to deliver high-performance, efficient and low-power intelligent cockpit solutions.
ECARX Co-founder, Chairman and CEO Ziyu Shen said: “Following the initial collaboration reached earlier this year, this new agreement reflects strong recognition and forward momentum from both sides.”
Alexander Seitz, Chairman of Volkswagen Group South America, said: “Since our first collaboration in March, cooperation between ECARX and Volkswagen Brazil has progressed rapidly and efficiently. The further expansion of this cooperation will bring ECARX's advanced intelligent cockpit technologies to many models in Brazil and across Latin America, delivering smart experiences that meet Volkswagen's high standards of quality. ”
