According to Mining Weekly citing Reuters, Argentina announced that in the first nine months, the country's mineral export value reached $4.21 billion, up 32.9% YoY.
This marks a record high for the country's mineral export value in the first nine months.
Argentina attributed part of the surge in mineral export value to the "outstanding performance" of international prices for metals such as gold and silver.
The country's main mineral exports are gold, silver, and lithium, with lithium being a key metal for battery production. Argentina is the world's fifth-largest lithium producer and holds the second-largest reserves globally.
"The expansion of lithium production in Argentina (with seven projects in operation) is linked to the growth in exports," an Argentine official added, without providing details on the increase in lithium exports.
Argentina has six world-class copper mine projects, but none have commenced production.
