SMM, October 15: According to official information from Yunnan Copper Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd., the recent public sale of 30 mt of selenium ingots with metal content was successfully concluded yesterday. SMM learned that this batch of crude selenium was 99% selenium ingots. The final buyer was not disclosed by the company, only mentioned as being acquired by a production-oriented enterprise. The final transaction price was indicated to be around 135,000 yuan/mt. This transaction price is almost the same as the previous tender result, which is indeed not low, and such a tender outcome was within market expectations. Following the news, crude selenium suppliers in the market have shown stronger reluctance to sell, leading the selenium dioxide and refined selenium markets into a wait-and-see mode. Many market traders have also raised their offers. Market participants still indicate that, with the persistent strength of crude selenium raw materials, the cost of selenium dioxide has remained high, and the possibility of low-price sales no longer exists.
