Since March 24, 2025, we have suspended the public display of transaction prices for waste lead-acid batteries delivered to smelters in the Shanghai area, primarily due to the following considerations: On one hand, the lack of smelters in Shanghai makes it difficult for related price data to accurately reflect actual market transactions; on the other hand, recycling activity in Shanghai at that time had declined compared to previous years, and continuing to display prices not only made it hard to ensure data accuracy and reliability but could also potentially mislead market participants. Therefore, out of a sense of responsibility to the market, we temporarily halted the publication of prices for this region.
However, through continuous observation and in-depth surveys, we found that the activity level of waste battery recycling business in Shanghai has not remained as low as initially expected. The demand for price information in the market remains strong, and with industry development, the importance of Shanghai in the waste lead-acid battery recycling chain has become increasingly prominent.
To better meet the needs of our users and provide more valuable price guidance for market participants, we have upgraded the price points for waste lead-acid batteries in Shanghai. Starting October 9, 2025, we will resume displaying price information for waste lead-acid batteries in Shanghai, but its definition will change from "delivered-to-smelter transaction price" to "recycling guidance price." The affected price points are: waste e-bike lead-acid battery (Shanghai), waste automotive lead-acid battery (white shell) (Shanghai), and waste automotive starter lead-acid battery (black shell) (Shanghai).
This price will comprehensively consider various factors such as the supply-demand relationship, recycling costs, transportation expenses, and overall industry trends. It aims to provide recycling enterprises in Shanghai with more forward-looking and practical price references, helping them optimize operational decisions and enhance market competitiveness.
