The most-traded SHFE lead 2510 contract opened at 16,920 yuan/mt today. The expected improvement in end-use lead consumption during the September back-to-school season failed to materialize, with sluggish trading activity in the spot lead market. SHFE lead maintained a consolidating trend, closing at 16,930 yuan/mt, up 0.21%, with open interest at 49,701 lots.
