Exactly one year after the first unit was handed over on August 21, 2024, the YANGWANG U9 all-electric supercar has reached 149 units in cumulative deliveries.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 21, YANGWANG, the luxury vehicle brand under BYD, released its "YANGWANG U9 One-Year Delivery Report," noting that exactly one year after the first unit was handed over on August 21, 2024, the all-electric supercar has reached 149 units in cumulative deliveries.

YANGWANG highlighted several performance benchmarks achieved over the past year. On October 26, 2024, the U9 set a national record by reaching a top speed of 391.94 km/h, officially becoming the fastest car in China. Less than two weeks later, it completed its first timed lap of Germany's Nürburgring Nordschleife with a preliminary result of 7 minutes and 17 seconds. Collectively, YANGWANG U9 owners have driven nearly 600,000 kilometers in a year—roughly equivalent to circling China 20 times—with the highest mileage logged by a single car exceeding 15,600 kilometers.

Hitting the market in February 2024 with a starting price of 1.68 million yuan, the YANGWANG U9 builds on the same "Time Gate" family design language first seen on the YANGWANG U8. Its space-inspired C-shaped lighting signature and muscular body lines deliver strong visual drama while underscoring its electric supercar identity.

At the rear, the logo is integrated into a full-width light bar, complemented by a distinctive spoiler and a carbon-fiber engine cover. Buyers can further customize the car with optional fixed or active rear wings in carbon fiber, along with multicolor brake calipers. The supercar rides on staggered 21-inch wheels with 275/35 front and 325/30 rear tires.

Inside, the cabin features extensive use of carbon fiber and Alcantara, arranged in a symmetrical "mirror" layout between driver and front passenger. Both sides are equipped with screens, while the center console hosts a vertical infotainment display, digital instrument panel, and an additional passenger screen.

Performance figures place the U9 firmly in hypercar territory: four motors combine for peak torque of 1,680 Nm and over 1,300 PS, with a maximum rotor speed of 21,000 rpm. The car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.36 seconds, completing a 400-km run in 9.78 seconds, and reaching a top speed of 309.19 km/h. It also supports unlimited launch-control activations.

For range and charging, the YANGWANG U9 is equipped with an 80 kWh battery offering up to 450 km under CLTC testing. With dual-port fast charging, the battery can be replenished from 30% to 80% in 10 minutes, while a standard charge takes about seven hours.
