Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 30, Leapmotor announced that production of its B01 sedan has already reached 10,000 units, only a week after the model’s official market launch.
The Leapmotor B01, marketed as a "high-quality smart sedan for young consumers," hit the market on July 24 with six variants priced between 89,800 yuan and 119,800 yuan.
The sedan features a sleek exterior design with eight paint options, including the "Morgan Pink" hue co-developed with Pantone. Aerodynamics are a key focus, with a drag coefficient as low as 0.197 Cd. The front fascia sports a full-width LED light bar and split headlamps, while the rear end is defined by a ducktail spoiler and smoked-through taillights.
Measuring 4,770 mm in length with a 2,735 mm wheelbase, Leapmotor claims the Leapmotor B01 delivers midsize-car interior space within a compact footprint.
Inside, the Leapmotor B01 combines a dual-tone interior in Phantom Purple and Light Grey with geometric, floating design elements. The cabin centers around a 14.6-inch 2.5K infotainment screen powered by Qualcomm's 8295 cockpit chip running Leapmotor OS 4.0. The system supports a customizable "3D Dynamic Desktop," seamless interface transitions, split-screen functions, and user-defined scenarios combining more than 200 features. Its AI voice assistant offers multi-intent commands, dialect recognition, 60-second continuous conversation, and even image generation from text prompts.
On the technology front, the new model comes equipped with Leapmotor Pilot, an advanced driver-assistance system offering highway and commuting navigation assist as well as proprietary memory parking that can learn routes up to one kilometer long and be controlled remotely via a smartphone app. Standard across the lineup are a 360-degree camera system and a "transparent chassis" view, while a Sentinel surveillance mode will later be rolled out to mid- and entry-level trims through OTA updates.
Powertrain options include three CLTC range variants of 430 km, 550 km, and 650 km, all using a rear-wheel-drive layout. The integrated oil-cooled electric drive unit produces a maximum output of 160 kW, enabling 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.4 seconds. The Leapmotor B01 employs Leapmotor’s latest CTC 2.0 Plus cell-to-chassis integration, and its chassis—jointly tuned with Stellantis—features a front MacPherson strut and rear five-link independent suspension.
