Spanish construction company Elecnor SA has selected China's LONGi Green Energy Technology to provide solar modules for a 60-megawatt photovoltaic project in the Dominican Republic.

Spanish construction company Elecnor SA has selected China's LONGi Green Energy Technology to provide solar modules for a 60-megawatt photovoltaic project in the Dominican Republic. This will mark the first use of LONGi's Hi-MO 9 series modules in the country. The plant, owned by Dominican power producer EGE Haina, will be situated in the Esperanza Park renewable energy cluster, which already includes an operational 90-MW solar farm and has plans for a 50-MW wind farm.

The Esperanza 2 solar plant is anticipated to generate over 115 gigawatt-hours of electricity per year, significantly reducing carbon emissions by approximately 70,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent annually. Elecnor, which has constructed over 10 gigawatts of solar PV capacity worldwide, will handle the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for the project.
