SMM reported on June 23: Spot silicon metal prices remained rangebound. In east China, the price of oxygen-blown #553 silicon metal ranged from 8,000 to 8,300 yuan/mt, unchanged from the previous working day. In the futures market, the main silicon metal contract SI2509 fluctuated rangebound, opening at 7,375 yuan/mt during the day, with a high of 7,450 yuan/mt and a low of 7,360 yuan/mt, and closing at 7,420 yuan/mt, down 15 yuan/mt from the previous working day. In terms of warrant data, according to GFEX data, the volume of silicon metal warrants stood at 54,184 lots, equivalent to 270,920 mt today, a decrease of 439 lots or 2,195 mt from the previous day. Recently, spot silicon metal has been trading at a premium to futures, with warrants being continuously canceled, resulting in a decrease in reported inventory and an increase in unreported inventory.
