The most-traded SHFE lead 2508 contract opened at 17,290 yuan/mt today. It briefly touched a low of 17,195 yuan/mt in the early session. In the afternoon, bulls exerted pressure, and SHFE lead fluctuated upward, reaching a high of 17,315 yuan/mt. It finally closed at 17,245 yuan/mt, up 0.41%, with an open interest of 52,878. The market still holds hopes for the peak consumption season of lead-acid batteries in Q3, with relatively strong bullish sentiment. The rise in lead prices has boosted the production enthusiasm of smelters. Attention will be paid to the impact of changes in lead ingot supply on prices in the future.
