SMM January 16 News:
Rare Earth Ore
Prices: Rare earth carbonate prices were approximately 33,100 yuan/mt, monazite prices were around 38,300 yuan/mt, and medium-yttrium, europium-rich ore standard ore prices were about 175,000 yuan/mt.
Supply and Demand: Currently, the mining market activity is relatively low, suppliers show limited willingness to sell, and the supply of rare earth raw materials appears slightly tight.
Rare Earth Oxides
Prices: The mainstream quotation range for Pr-Nd oxide was 408,000-412,000 yuan/mt; the transaction range for dysprosium oxide was approximately 1.665-1.675 million yuan/mt, and terbium oxide prices were around 5.9-6 million yuan/mt.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, the number of spot cargoes actively quoted by separation plants was limited, and market sentiment remained cautious. Currently, some buyers still exhibit strong stockpiling intentions, keeping rare earth oxide prices firm.
Rare Earth Metals
Prices: The mainstream quotation for Pr-Nd alloy was approximately 504,000-507,000 yuan/mt, dysprosium-iron prices corresponding to oxide quotations were around 1.59-1.61 million yuan/mt, and terbium metal prices were about 7.3-7.35 million yuan/mt.
Supply and Demand: Recently, some metal plants are expected to start their holiday and suspend production by the end of this week. Spot inventory is relatively low, quotations remain firm, and low-priced goods in the market have become increasingly scarce.
Magnetic Materials
Prices: NdFeB blank prices for NdFeB blank N35 (Ce) were reported at 125-135 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 38H prices were reported at 170-180 yuan/kg.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, rare earth prices rose sharply again. As the Chinese New Year holiday approaches, some magnetic material enterprises are expected to suspend production and take a break, leading to overall low purchasing enthusiasm. Market transactions appear sluggish, and enterprises hold a wait-and-see attitude toward future market trends.
NdFeB Scrap
Prices: NdFeB scrap Pr-Nd prices were reported at 431-436 yuan/kg; NdFeB scrap dysprosium prices were reported at 1,559-1,587 yuan/kg; NdFeB scrap terbium prices were reported at 5,087-5,123 yuan/kg.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, scrap market quotations increased, influenced by the rise in oxide prices. Low-priced goods in the market are gradually decreasing. Post-holiday bullish sentiment is growing, with many traders actively inquiring about low-priced goods for stockpiling, but actual transactions still face challenges.
