SMM January 15 News:

Rare Earth Ore

Prices: Rare earth carbonate prices are approximately 32,800 yuan/mt, monazite prices are around 37,700 yuan/mt, and medium-yttrium, europium-rich ore standard ore prices are about 175,000 yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Currently, the activity in the mining market is relatively low, suppliers show limited willingness to sell, and the supply of rare earth raw materials appears slightly tight.

Rare Earth Oxides

Prices: The mainstream quotation range for Pr-Nd oxide is 405,000-406,000 yuan/mt; the transaction range for dysprosium oxide is approximately 1.64-1.66 million yuan/mt, and terbium oxide quotations are around 5.85-5.9 million yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Yesterday, rare earth oxide prices remained relatively firm. At present, some metal enterprises, holding an optimistic view of post-holiday rare earth prices, still exhibit strong stockpiling intentions. However, their acceptance of high-priced oxides is limited, and it is expected that the upward support for oxide prices may weaken.

Rare Earth Metals

Prices: The mainstream quotation for Pr-Nd alloy is approximately 497,000-500,000 yuan/mt, dysprosium-iron prices corresponding to oxide quotations are around 1.59-1.61 million yuan/mt, and terbium metal quotations are about 7.3-7.35 million yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Recently, metal plants have been continuously quoting corresponding oxides. Some metal plants are expected to begin holiday shutdowns and production halts by this weekend, reducing their willingness to sell at low prices, leading to a tightening of low-priced supply in the market.

Magnetic Materials

Prices: NdFeB blank prices for NdFeB blank N35 (Ce) are reported at 125-135 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 38H prices are reported at 170-180 yuan/kg.

Supply and Demand: Yesterday, rare earth prices gradually stabilized. The procurement activities of major manufacturers have increased market inquiry activity, leading to more frequent transactions. However, as the Chinese New Year holiday approaches, some magnetic material plants are gradually halting production and taking holidays, which may cause market trading activity to cool down.

NdFeB Scrap

Prices: NdFeB scrap Pr-Nd prices are reported at 420-425 yuan/kg; NdFeB scrap dysprosium prices are reported at 1,559-1,587 yuan/kg; NdFeB scrap terbium prices are reported at 5,087-5,123 yuan/kg.

Supply and Demand: Currently, some traders in the scrap market are seizing the opportunity to stockpile before logistics operations cease, leading to a continuous reduction in low-priced supply. Separation enterprises are stockpiling as planned at year-end, but due to the price-raising behavior of traders, the supply of low-priced goods in the market has become even scarcer, resulting in increased stockpiling costs.
