As of January 30, the operating rate at steel rolling mills, which mainly produce building materials, was 5.71%, down 16.64 percentage points MoM and up 5.71 percentage points YoY.
In January, the spot price and price center of construction steel across the country fluctuated downwards. The efficiency of steel mills was moderate and the enthusiasm for production was not high. Secondly, in late January, many steel rolling mills suspended production for the holidays, only a few steel mills have not suspended production, but they will completely suspend production in early February, and there is still room for production reduction in the later period. It is expected that the operating rate of steel rolling mills will still have room to decrease in February.
