Job Responsibilities
- Foster a deep understanding of the fundamentals, supply chains, end uses, and key market participants across the regional commodities and metals markets, with a specific focus on Southeast Asian dynamics.
- Collect market-facing pricing data, conduct regular price assessments, and set price benchmarks in strict accordance with the company’s defined methodologies and international regulatory standards.
- Write high-quality market commentaries, breaking news, and insightful reviews with sharp price-reporting angles, providing the market with real-time interpretation of regional hot spots.
- Manage, diversify, and expand the network of corporate contacts (producers, traders, and end-users) to increase the volume of pricing data submissions and secure exclusive market insights.
- Handle routine and sensitive inquiries from market contacts regarding price assessment outcomes, ensuring commercial transparency while maintaining high professional and compliance boundaries.
- Leverage advanced AI technologies and data tools to efficiently crawl, structure, and synthesize massive market inputs, optimizing the timeliness and intelligence of the internal database.
- Collaborate with global research and data teams to provide operational consistency across different commodity sectors, building a shared, institutional knowledge base.
- Actively participate in architectural design, mathematical modeling, and continuous refinement of supply-demand balances and forecasting models to enhance data accuracy and predictive capabilities.
- Support regional market engagement plans to promote the company’s pricing authority, representing the business at industry events, webinars, and panel discussions within the Asia-Pacific region.
- Contribute expert analysis and professional support to customized strategy consulting and data-driven market research projects, delivering high-value insights tailored to global client needs.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Economics, Finance, International Trade, Metallurgy, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Proven fluency in professional English (both written and spoken) to ensure seamless communication with international clients and global internal teams; proficiency in a regional language (e.g., Mandarin, Malay) is highly advantageous for localized market coverage.
- Prior internship or up to 2 years of professional experience within commodity markets, market research, data analysis, or financial financial services.
- Demonstrable experience or strong familiarity with modern AI collaboration tools, data crawling methods, or structured database management systems to optimize workflows.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the psychological resilience and persistence required to initiate and maintain high-frequency contact with market participants.
- Sharp attention to detail, strong numerical reasoning, and a high level of discipline to handle daily, time-sensitive data entry and report publishing without compromising accuracy.
- High ethical standards and an initial understanding of market regulatory compliance, anti-trust principles, or independent pricing methodologies.
