Dear Users,
Greetings!
As the global photovoltaic market continues to shift toward higher-efficiency, higher-power and higher-value products, module technologies and power configurations are evolving rapidly. BC modules, featuring higher front-side conversion efficiency, a gridline-free appearance and strong low-light performance, are gaining increasing attention in distributed generation, commercial and industrial, and other premium application markets. High efficiency TOPCon modules (module power ≥640 Wp), supported by mature mass-production capabilities, higher power output per watt and significant balance-of-system cost advantages, have become important procurement products for utility-scale solar projects and large ground-mounted power plants.
Meanwhile, China remains the world’s largest production and export base for photovoltaic modules. As overseas project tenders, international trade and module exports continue to expand, market attention to FOB prices at China’s major ports has increased. Existing price assessments do not yet fully reflect the product premiums, changes in supply and demand, and actual transaction levels of BC modules and high-power TOPCon modules in the export market.
FOB China prices are based on the value of modules after export customs clearance and loading on board at major Chinese export ports. They exclude international freight, insurance, import duties and other charges incurred in the destination country. These assessments can provide module manufacturers, overseas buyers, traders, project investors and financial institutions with clearer and more comparable benchmarks for cross-border transactions.
To better reflect export market conditions for Chinese BC modules and high-power TOPCon modules, and to support industry participants in export pricing, procurement decisions, trade settlement, cost calculation and risk management, SMM has conducted extensive market research and plans to officially launch the following price assessments on August 24, 2026:
-
BC Module-G12R (66/72-Cell Format)-China FOB
-
BC Module (54-Cell Format)-China FOB
-
TOPCon Module-High Efficiency G12R-China FOB
The new assessments will primarily reference actual transactions and executable offers for the relevant module products delivered FOB from the Port of Shanghai, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, Xiamen Port, Qingdao Port, Shenzhen Port and other major export ports in China.
