Lithium dihydrogen phosphate is one of the key raw materials for manufacturing lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode materials. In the ferrous oxalate process route, it acts as both the lithium and phosphorus source. It is mixed with ferrous oxalate and then undergoes grinding, drying, and high-temperature solid-state sintering to produce LFP. As downstream demand for power batteries and energy storage batteries continues to expand, the market for high-tap-density LFP is growing rapidly. As the primary material for producing high-tap-density LFP, lithium dihydrogen phosphate is attracting increasing market attention. The introduction of this price assessment will provide a more transparent, spot-trading-based price reference for the supply chain.

In order to reflect lithium-ion battery cathode raw material prices more comprehensively and to lower trade barriers and mitigate risks for industry participants, SMM has decided, following in-depth market research and industry feedback, to launch a new price assessment for battery-grade lithium dihydrogen phosphate, effective August 10, 2026.

The definitions of the price assessment are as follows:

  • Product: Battery-Grade Lithium Dihydrogen Phosphate

  • Specification: LiH₂PO₄ ≥ 99.5%

  • Price Type: Delivered-to-plant price, inclusive of 13% VAT, with delivery arranged by the seller (seller delivers to buyer)

  • Mainstream Brands: Xingfa Group, Chuanfa Longmang, Ganfeng Lithium, etc.

  • Minimum Transaction Volume: 60 tonnes

  • Delivery Period: Within 1 month

  • Payment Terms: Bank acceptance draft

  • Pricing Unit: RMB/tonne

  • Quotation Form: Price range

  • Publication Time: Every working day from 11:30 to 12:00 Beijing time (excluding Chinese public holidays and weekends)
