Job Responsibilities
- Market Intelligence & Sourcing: Deeply embed into the Brazilian mining and metals ecosystem. Develop and maintain a robust network of high-value contacts, including producers, traders, industrial consumers, and policy influencers.
- Price Assessment (PRAs): Collect, verify, and analyze physical transaction data according to company methodology to provide daily/weekly benchmark price assessments that ensure market transparency and authority.
- In-depth Content Creation: Produce high-quality market analysis, breaking news, and thematic reports. Interpret the impact of Brazilian macro-policies, environmental regulations, and logistics on global commodity flows.
- Market Monitoring: Conduct field research and attend industry conferences in São Paulo and major mining regions to capture first-hand information before it hits the mainstream media.
- Global Collaboration: Work closely with the Shanghai headquarters and regional offices in London and Singapore to synchronize data and provide a holistic view of the global supply chain.
Job Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Journalism, International Trade, Metallurgy, or a related field.
- Language Proficiency: Native-level Portuguese is mandatory. Professional fluency in English (written and spoken) is required for global reporting.
- Professional Experience: 3-5 years of experience in financial journalism, commodities consulting, or industrial market research. Familiarity with the Brazilian commodities market is highly preferred.
- Analytical Rigor: Strong ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights. A "sense for news" combined with a logical approach to price trends.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional networking and interviewing skills, with the ability to navigate complex business environments and extract critical market data.
- Work Ethic: High resilience, results-oriented, and able to meet strict deadlines. A commitment to extreme data accuracy and ethical reporting standards.
