European Energy has completed the sale of its Jonava renewable energy project in Lithuania to Energix – Renewable Energies. The massive hybrid development features a planned capacity of 470 MW, integrating 140 MW of onshore wind, 330 MWp of solar PV, and 320 MWh of energy storage. Construction is slated to begin shortly with full commercial operations targeted for 2027. This divestment highlights the company’s "develop-and-flip" model, successfully de-risking large-scale, grid-stable assets to recycle capital into its global pipeline of wind and solar projects.

Vietnamese steelmaker Hoa Phat Group has officially launched the second phase of a massive rooftop solar project at its Dung Quat steelmaking complex to enhance energy self-sufficiency and lower carbon emissions. This 22.5 MWp installation spans rolling mills, the hot-rolled coil production unit, and warehouses, generating roughly 32.8 million kWh annually. Set for full completion across five phases by the second quarter of 2027, the $22.7 million initiative will reach a total capacity of 79.2 MWp, cutting carbon emissions by more than 78,000 metric tons per year and improving the mill's export competitiveness in carbon-regulated markets like the EU.

The UK government has supported over 780 solar projects since July 2024, ranging from school rooftops to utility-scale power plants. Anthem reached financial close on South Africa's largest solar project to date: the 620 MWdc 'Notsi' facility. Utilizing a 'multi-offtaker wheeling model', the plant will supply 1.5 TWh annually to commercial clients for over 20 years. A Chinese joint venture (CEEC and NWEPDI) secured the EPC contract, backed by debt financing from a local banking consortium.

National Aluminium Company (NALCO) reported that its 130 kWp rooftop solar project in the Damanjodi mining area had officially commenced operations. Meanwhile, the smelter's 960 electrolytic cells continued to operate at full capacity, with an annual operating scale of approximately 460,000 mt. At present, NALCO is expected to add 500,000-600,000 mt of aluminum capacity. The project is currently in the feasibility study and environmental impact assessment (EIA) stage; however, its progress is constrained by the construction schedule of the power plant.

According to Polaris Power Network, the Shanxi Provincial Energy Bureau issued the "Notice on Issuing the Construction Plan for the First Batch of Large-Scale Wind and Solar Power Bases in Shanxi Province for 2026." The notice states that, following application and review, a total of eight projects with a combined capacity of 6 million kW have been approved for construction. It also guides enterprises to optimize project layouts, prioritizing the integrated development of wind and solar power to leverage their complementary characteristics.

PT Investasi Hijau Selaras (HIJAU) and PT Pei Hai International Wiratama Indonesia have officially launched a 1.5 MWp Phase I rooftop solar plant and signed a cooperation agreement for a 2.2 MWp Phase II expansion. Despite challenges from heavy rainfall and logistics delays, Phase I is now operational and expected to cut 30,865 tons of CO₂ emissions over 15 years. Pei Hai, an export-oriented manufacturer, is leveraging this partnership to align with global sustainability standards and reduce long-term energy costs, while HIJAU focuses on industrial-grade reliability and real-time monitoring to support Indonesia’s 2060 Net Zero target.

On February 3, 2026, the United States and India formally signed a bilateral trade agreement, reaching a significant consensus on tariff arrangements for Indian goods exported to the US market. Under the terms of the agreement, the reciprocal tariff rate applicable to Indian goods (including solar modules and energy storage components) was reduced from 25% to 18%.

On February 20, 2026, Turkey and Saudi Arabia's ACWA Power signed a 2 GW solar project agreement in Istanbul, further promoting regional energy transition and transnational cooperation.

Egyptian Electricity Transmission Co. (EETC) has launched an international tender for a 500 MW solar project in Egypt's West Nile region. The deadline to submit prequalification documents is May 11.
