Using in-situ synchrotron X-ray analysis, the study revealed how ultrasound refines the microstructure of Al-Si-Mg alloys, providing new insights to support advanced aluminum manufacturing and greater use of recycled aluminum in automotive applications.

The federation highlighted that recycled aluminum can be reused indefinitely while requiring only around 5% of the energy needed to produce primary aluminum, making it a key material for low-carbon manufacturing and long-ter.
