Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has launched a sunset review of the antidumping (AD) duty on H-beam imports from China, currently set at 13.38%. Initiated following a request from local producer Posco Yamato Vina Steel Joint Stock Company, the review will assess whether revoking the existing measures—covering products under Customs Tariff numbers 7216.33.11, 7216.33.19, 7216.33.90, 7228.70.10, and 7228.70.90—would lead to a recurrence of dumping. This regulatory step is critical for domestic manufacturers like Posco Yamato to protect market share against potential low-cost influxes from China.
Jun 30, 2026 16:04[SMM Steel] Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has terminated anti-dumping (AD) duties on H-beam steel from Malaysia following a sunset review, as domestic producers did not request an extension. The case, initiated in 2020, previously imposed duties of 10.64% (2021) and later adjusted to 22.09–33.51% (2022). With the expiry of the measure, Malaysian H-beam imports are expected to resume under normal trade conditions, potentially easing supply and increasing competition in Vietnam’s structural steel market.
Apr 20, 2026 19:12【SMM Steel】CSC clarified its local scrap purchases are for 2030 carbon goals, not a continuous trend. It targets high-quality clean scrap (unpainted H-beams, steel plates >6mm) unlike general EAF scrap. Dealers warn premium domestic supply is scarce, pressuring EAF mills to raise bids. CSC says it has no intention to disrupt the market or compete for standard raw materials.
Apr 2, 2026 15:28Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has officially initiated a review of existing antidumping (AD) duties on certain H-beam steel imports from China. The review period will cover October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025, following a request submitted by Chinese producer Hebei Jinxi Iron and Steel, which currently faces a 13.38% AD duty. The ministry will assess whether dumping practices and injury to Vietnam’s steel industry remain present under current market conditions. Existing duties on Chinese H-beams range from 13.38% to 33.51%, depending on the exporter. The products under review fall under HS codes 7216.33.11, 7216.33.19, 7216.33.90, 7228.70.10, and 7228.70.90. The outcome of the review will determine whether current antidumping measures remain, are adjusted, or are lifted.
Dec 2, 2025 08:51Recently, as the foreign vessel slowly departed from the port, the largest batch of H-beams exported by Maanshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. (Ma Steel) via transshipment from Baosteel Wharf at Baoshan Base was successfully loaded and shipped, marking the successful completion of this multi-base collaborative export operation. Under the coordinated planning and promotion of the Contract Logistics Department of the Marketing Center (Baosteel International), and with the strong support of the Transportation Department, the Contract Logistics Department of Ma Steel's Marketing Center, Baoxin Company, and other units, Baoyun Company took the lead in innovatively implementing a new logistics solution—combining shipments of "Ma Steel's H-beams bound for the Philippines + Baoxin's coiled steel bound for the Philippines." This solution not only efficiently integrated cargo resources from different sales channels but also achieved the goal of reducing the overall logistics costs for H-beam exports. Through multi-base collaboration, multi-overseas company coordination, and multi-sales channel synergy, it vividly demonstrated the company's collaborative culture.
