[SMM Data: Nickel Ore Import Data Analysis for August 2024] According to the latest data from China Customs, China's nickel ore imports in July 2024 amounted to 4,930,667 wet and dry tonnes, representing a year-on-year decrease of 10.79% for the month and a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 12.02%. Among them, the import volume of laterite nickel ore for the month was 4,884,900 wet and dry tonnes, with a year-on-year decline of 11.24%; while the import volume of sulfide ore for the month was 45,800 wet and dry tonnes, marking a year-on-year increase of 95.27%.

In September 2023, according to customs data, China imported 5.9656 million mt of nickel ore, up 7.9% MoM and 26.5% YoY.
