[SMM Flash News] According to SMM on June 4, Yieh United Steel Corporation (YUSCO) in Taiwan, China announced its plate prices for June on May 28. On the basis of the same volume and price as the previous month, the price of 304 grade steel fell by NTD 2,500/mt, 430 grade by NTD 500/mt, and 316L grade by NTD 2,000/mt. YUSCO pointed out that the cost of raw materials is unlikely to decline in the near future, while energy costs remain high. Currently, the market is still affected by uncertainties surrounding the US tariff policy. Considering changes in costs, overall market conditions, and supporting customers in expanding into international markets, the above price reductions have been made. It is worth noting that the recent significant appreciation of the New Taiwan dollar has led to an increase in the conversion cost of export prices settled in US dollars, almost offsetting the room for price reductions by steel mills. The current FOB prices at Kaohsiung Port are as follows: 304/2B at USD1,950/MT FOB, 316L/2B at USD3,530/MT FOB, and 430/2B at USD1,500/MT FOB.
