Dear User:
Greetings!
Thank you for your continued support and trust in the SMM PV Research Team.
In recent years, India's PV manufacturing industry has expanded rapidly. Driven by policy support, the development of local manufacturing capabilities, and growth in end-market installations, India is gradually becoming an important growth hub in the global PV manufacturing landscape. As local module and solar cell capacity continues to be released, India's position in the global PV supply chain is strengthening, and market attention to local production, supply capability, and industrial chain development has increased significantly.
At the same time, India's ALMM policy continues to reinforce the development of domestic manufacturing, creating a long-term impact on the local supply structure of modules and solar cells. In particular, under the promotion of DCR projects, local cell usage requirements, and government procurement rules, the production of Indian-made modules and solar cells has become an important indicator for evaluating India's PV supply-demand balance, manufacturing expansion pace, and policy implementation progress. For industry participants, timely tracking of India's local production changes can help better assess local supply capability, project delivery progress, import substitution potential, and future price trends.
To further enhance the global coverage of SMM's PV data system and more comprehensively reflect changes in India's PV manufacturing market, SMM plans to officially add the following two India PV manufacturing production data points to the SMM data terminal:
• India DCR Module Production – Monthly
• India Solar Cell Production – Monthly
The above data points will be officially launched on June 15, 2026 and the update time will be the 5th day of each month, covering the data of the previous month. After the launch, users can view the latest data through the SMM data terminal.
SMM will continue to improve its India and global PV industry chain database in line with India's PV industry development, policy changes, and customer demand. We remain committed to enhancing the professionalism, completeness, and practicality of our data products, and to providing users with more valuable industry chain data support.
Should you have any questions regarding the new data points, statistical methodology, or related data services, please feel free to contact the SMM PV Research Team.
Thank you again for your continued support and attention.
