Located in Jiaoyang New Materials Industrial Park, the project uses crude lithium carbonate as raw material and adopts carbonization plus resin-based deep impurity removal to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate. The output will be supplied to the group’s internal lithium iron phosphate cathode material line, forming a closed loop of “lithium resources – lithium carbonate – cathode materials.” After completing industrial-grade and battery-grade production trials, the next step is to optimize processes and achieve a smooth transition to full-scale operation.

Japanese electronics maker Kyocera has entered into reciprocal power purchase agreements ('PPAs') with Cosmo Energy Holdings. Starting next month, Kyocera will supply solar power from its assets to Cosmo Energy Solutions. In exchange, Kyocera will procure electricity from the 48 MW Nakaki wind farm operated by Cosmo Eco Power. The partnership aims to diversify their renewable portfolios and explore future collaborations in battery storage. This move follows Kyocera's recent agreement with Osaki Electric and Taiwan Plastics Group to jointly develop an 'AI'-based energy management system integrating solar generation and lithium iron phosphate battery storage, targeting a final contract by the end of this year.

On the morning of March 28, Wanhua Chemical's Wanhua Haiyang Green Electricity Industrial Park held a ceremony in Longshan Subdistrict, Haiyang City, Yantai City, Shandong Province, marking the commencement of production for Phase I and the groundbreaking for Phase II. This industrial park is a landmark project for Wanhua Chemical's strategic transformation into "chemicals + new energy" and its expansion into battery materials as a second core business. Covering a total area of approximately 1,850 mu, the park involves a planned total investment of 16.8 billion yuan. It has been designated as a major project in Shandong Province for 2025, a provincial source-grid-load-storage integrated pilot project, and a provincial green electricity industrial park pilot zone.

On March 20, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the environmental impact assessment approval process for construction projects, the Jiujiang Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment planned to accept the environmental impact assessment documents for the "Ruichang City Lithium New Energy Battery Material Regeneration Production Project" undertaken by a company in Jiangxi. The core content of the project is to construct a comprehensive project for the precise recycling and regeneration of spent lithium battery materials, with a planned annual processing capacity of 38,000 tons of spent lithium-ion batteries. This includes 2 precise dismantling and material regeneration lines for lithium iron phosphate, with an annual processing capacity of 20,000 tons;

Recently, the Bengbu Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment in Anhui Province released the acceptance announcement for the environmental impact assessment report of the "Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery Cathode Material Repair Project" undertaken by a new energy technology company in Anhui. Phase I involves the procurement of pretreatment equipment, separation and repair equipment, mixing equipment, environmental protection equipment, etc., and the construction of one new production line for repairing 10,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate battery cathode materials. Phase II involves the construction of one new production line for repairing 10,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate battery cathode materials.

Recently, the Jiujiang Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment in Jiangxi Province released the acceptance announcement for the environmental impact assessment report of the "Ruichang City Lithium New Energy Battery Material Regeneration Production Project" undertaken by a company in Jiangxi. According to the public notice, a new materials company in Jiangxi has a project investment of 60 million yuan. The construction site is located in the Ruichang Economic Development Zone in Jiangxi. The project involves constructing 4 production lines, including 2 precise dismantling and material regeneration lines for lithium iron phosphate, with an annual processing capacity of 20,000 tons;

Recently, the engineering construction acceptance inspection website published the environmental protection acceptance inspection for the "Annual 100,000-ton Spent Lithium Battery Recycling, Dismantling, and 20,000-ton Spent Lithium Iron Phosphate Powder Recycling Comprehensive Utilization Project" undertaken by a new energy technology company in Hunan, indicating the project is about to enter the production phase. The project will involve renovating an existing 2,000-ton lithium iron phosphate production line, replacing raw materials, auxiliary materials, and production equipment, and adding new equipment. Using 20,000 tons of spent lithium iron phosphate powder as the primary raw material.

On March 2nd, information from the Lanzhou Bureau of Industry and Information Technology revealed that a new material company in Gansu recently held a commissioning ceremony in Lanzhou New Area for the first phase of its 100,000-ton-per-year lithium phosphate-based cathode material production line construction project. It is reported that the project covers a total area of 363 mu with a total investment of 3.135 billion yuan. The project is being built in two phases, each with a capacity of 100,000 tons. The first phase, a 100,000-ton-per-year lithium iron phosphate production line, commenced construction in April 2024 and has now officially started production after over a year of construction.
