SMM April 10 News: Green Journey, Co-creating a New Chapter in Circular Economy. In the face of global climate change and increasingly scarce resources, sustainable development has become a major issue for the world. As a key part of the non-ferrous metal industry, the aluminum industry not only drives economic growth but also bears the historical mission of reducing environmental footprints and achieving the goals of "carbon peak" and "carbon neutrality." Against this backdrop, Anhui, an important province in east China, is gradually becoming a new highland for the development of the domestic secondary aluminum industry, leveraging its strong industrial base and forward-looking circular economy policies. Secondary aluminum, as a model for energy conservation, emission reduction, and improving resource utilization efficiency, is increasingly highlighting its strategic value. Anhui, with its comprehensive advantages in geographical location, resource aggregation, and policy support, has attracted many secondary aluminum enterprises to settle, forming a complete industry chain from aluminum scrap recycling and processing to high-end aluminum alloy production. To this end, SMM organized a field trip to Anhui's secondary aluminum industry, aiming to gather industry elites, deeply explore the forefront of Anhui's secondary aluminum industry, and jointly discuss the green development path of the secondary aluminum industry. On April 10, SMM and the field trip members visited Shunbo Alloy Anhui Co., Ltd. for exchanges. Company Profile Shunbo Alloy Anhui Co., Ltd. is an investment project signed between Chongqing Shunbo Aluminum Alloy Co., Ltd. and the People's Government of Bowang District, Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province on May 12, 2021. The Ma'anshan project has a total investment of approximately 5.6 billion yuan, purchasing about 1,430 mu of land, and building a production site for green circular secondary aluminum, flat ingots, round ingots, and aluminum ash comprehensive utilization projects. The construction is divided into four phases: the first phase will produce 400,000 mt of green circular secondary aluminum annually, the second phase will build projects producing 300,000 mt of flat ingots and 200,000 mt of round ingots annually, the third phase will build a 100,000 mt aluminum ash comprehensive utilization project, and the fourth phase will build projects producing 150,000 mt of aluminum plates, aluminum foil, and 60,000 mt of aluminum extrusions annually, all of which are expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2025. The 7020 is a high-strength aluminum alloy belonging to the 7xxx series, primarily containing elements such as aluminum, zinc, magnesium, and copper. At present, the company has fulfilled an initial production request of 200 tons for customers. Moving forward, the Alloying Division will closely monitor usage feedback from downstream clients, continuously accumulate technical expertise, and strive to develop more 7xxx series aluminum alloy products.

After multiple meetings and scheme optimizations, the Alloying Business Department successfully solved the production issues of 7020 aluminum alloy round ingots and completed the initial trial production. It has now fulfilled the initial production demand of 200 tons for customers.
