In an interview on January 22, 2026, Ruddy Tjanaka, President Director of PT PAM Mineral Tbk (NICL), expressed optimism for the nickel industry despite Indonesia's shift back to a one-year RKAB (production quota) cycle. While the company prefers a three-year planning horizon, it has submitted a 2026 RKAB totaling 5.3 million tons (IBM: 2.5M, SMA: 2.3M, and PAM: 800k). Ruddy noted that while global nickel prices (LME/HMA) are rising due to supply tightening, the primary challenge remains the speed of quota approvals, as some operations are still pending forestry permits (PPKH).
