[Japan] Tokyo Steel announced a reduction of its domestic steel scrap purchase prices in the Tokyo Bay area by approximately 3.1 USD/tonne, effective June 26, with shindachi scrap cut by approximately 6.2 USD/tonne. After the adjustment, H2 scrap purchase prices in the Tokyo Bay and Kyushu areas both decreased to 331 USD/tonne, while in other areas they fluctuate between 331 and 334 USD/tonne. The latest price cut was primarily driven by weak demand for finished steel in the local construction and manufacturing sectors, prompting coastal EAF mills to precisely push for lower raw material prices to squeeze profits.

The European Commission officially imposed new duties on various imports of Hot Rolled Coils (HRC) and strips originating from Egypt, Japan, and Vietnam after concluding its anti-dumping investigation, range from 6.9% to 30%. For Egypt, the definitive dumping margin was set at 11.7 % For Japan, definitive duties were imposed at: 30.0% for Nippon Steel Corporation and all other companies (down from 31.8% provisional duties); 29.8% for JFE Steel Corporation and Daido Steel Co (down from 31.1% provisional duties); and Tokyo Steel received a comparatively low duty of 6.9% For Vietnam, the definitive rate was set at 12.1% for Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation and all other companies, in line with the provisional rate.

The European Commission (EC) has announced the final results of its anti-dumping investigation into hot-rolled coil (HRC) imports from Egypt, Japan, and Vietnam. The duty rate for Ezz Steel and all other Egyptian companies was reduced to 11.7% (previously 12.8% for this manufacturer, effective from April 7, 2025). Initially, the EC proposed a 15.6% tariff for Ezz, but the decision was modified after appeals. The final anti-dumping margins were set at 30.4% for Japan's Nippon Steel, 6.9% for Tokyo Steel, and 30.1% for all other Japanese exporters. For Vietnam's Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation and all other Vietnamese companies, the anti-dumping duty will be 12.1%.
