Both Gujarat-based manufacturers produce premium-quality thermo-mechanically treated (TMT) steel bars within the Kamdhenu brand ecosystem. This proposed amalgamation will combine their businesses into a single listed entity, forming a larger steel manufacturing enterprise with expanded scale and integrated operations.

The petition aims to evaluate whether these imports cause material injury or impede the establishment of a domestic industry. The investigating authority has 45 days to review legal representation and injury evidence before making a final recommendation to the Minister of Industry and Trade on case initiation. Vietnam imposed AD duties of 9.79-28% on prestressed steel strand from Malaysia Thailand and China in January 2025 and initiated a first review on January 21 2026. A new probe on steel bars would expand Vietnam's trade remedy scope against Chinese steel products.

This is Ukraine's sixth AD probe on Chinese products since April 2024.

In April, China exported 640,000 mt of angle steel and sections, up 7.1% YoY; cumulative exports from January to April totaled 2.55 million mt, up 14.9% YoY.

The USDOC determined that the collapsed Venus Group (including Atlas Stainless, Venus Wire, and Hindustan Inox) sold products below normal market value, assigning it a preliminary dumping margin of 30.92%. Conversely, Laxcon Steels Private Limited and its affiliates received a 0% margin for complying with fair pricing standards. Five other non-examined Indian firms face a rate of 15.46%, while the review for Ambica Steel Limited was rescinded following a withdrawal request.

The investigation covers imports from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2025, and will assess whether low-priced Chinese imports caused injury to the domestic industry. Authorities may impose provisional AD duties if preliminary findings confirm dumping and material injury.
