This week (March 13, 2026–March 19, 2026), multiple enterprises in the solid-state battery sector were active: Dali Times commenced construction of a 2 GWh specialized semi-solid-state battery base; EVE’s Longquan Phase III/IV all-solid-state batteries rolled off the line in Chengdu; Chery released its 600 Wh/kg Rhino all-solid-state battery technology。
Mar 19, 2026 15:20This week (February 27, 2026–March 5), more players entered the solid-state battery industry, with various parties “riding” the hype: Sunstone Development and TONZE stated that their sulphide projects were still in the early R&D stage; QingTao’s Wuhai 2 billion yuan project released its EIA public notice, and a 3.5 GWh production line in Taizhou commenced operations; Suzuki acquired Kanadevia’s solid-state battery business
Feb 27, 2026 13:29This week (January 30 to February 5, 2026), the scaling of Tesla’s dry electrode process represented a revolutionary breakthrough in manufacturing, while Light-Year Engine’s “launch-to-production” approach marked a bold declaration on the product front. Both point to the core challenges of industrialisation —engineering and cost.
Feb 5, 2026 14:56[Second-generation solid-state batteries: Top-tier enterprises are already diving in! Lithium metal may become the "ultimate ideal"] "The anode is made of lithium metal." Recently, Ganfeng Lithium, a lithium giant in China, stated that its second-generation hybrid solid-state lithium battery uses lithium metal as the anode. The high specific energy battery developed has an energy density of 420 Wh/kg and a cycle life exceeding 700 cycles. With the development and mass production of solid-state batteries, the issue of lithium dendrites, which previously limited the application of lithium metal anodes, is being resolved. The new technology can not only inhibit the growth of lithium dendrites, but the solid electrolyte separator can also prevent them from puncturing the separator and causing battery short circuits. Following silicon carbon anodes, lithium metal anodes are becoming the new favorite in solid-state batteries and will also become the latest market for lithium resource applications.
Jun 10, 2025 18:35Recently, the Pidu Ecological Environment Bureau of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, intends to issue approval opinions on the environmental impact assessment document for the Southwest Industrial Base Project of Solid-State Batteries by a certain new energy technology company. It is reported that the project has an investment of RMB 4.5 billion. The project is located in the New Economy Industrial Park of the Industrial Port in Pidu District, Chengdu City, covering an area of approximately 446.0165 mu. New industrial plants and supporting facilities will be constructed, including a battery cell manufacturing center, a PACK manufacturing center, and a solid-state lithium battery energy storage R&D center. The total construction area is approximately 417,695.40 m². It is planned to purchase approximately 1,452 sets of equipment for electrode production, assembly, detection, PACK, etc. Upon completion, the project is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of 15 GWh of solid-state battery cells and solid-state battery systems.
May 29, 2025 17:31【Signing of 1GWh Solid-State Lithium Battery Production Site Project in Hebei】Recently, the Nanshan Automotive Industry Base in Zhangjiakou, Hebei, and Sanwei (Shaanxi) Battery Technology Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony for the Sanwei Solid-State Specialty Battery Production Site Project. The project will establish a fourth-generation intelligent battery factory, with a planned total investment of 1 billion yuan, covering a total area of 70 mu (approximately 46,667 m²), and a planned construction area of 102,000 m², to be implemented in two phases. Phase I will involve an investment of 600 million yuan, and Phase II will involve an investment of 400 million yuan, with reserved space for capacity expansion. Upon completion, it will add a production capacity of 1GWh for Sanwei solid-state lithium batteries. The project is expected to commence construction in June 2025 and is anticipated to be operational before the end of 2026. Upon completion, it is expected to generate an additional annual output value of 1 billion yuan, significantly promoting the clustered development of the new energy industry in Zhangjiakou City and contributing to the establishment of a national-level new energy equipment manufacturing base.
