From January to February, national washing machine production reached 18.579 million units, down 0.8% YoY. From January to February, national color TV production reached 24.678 million units, up 2.3% YoY. In February 2026, China exported 6.84 million air conditioners, up 1.2% YoY; cumulative exports from January to February totaled 13.15 million units, down 6.5% YoY. Refrigerator exports reached 6.93 million units in February, up 26.6% YoY; cumulative exports from January to February totaled 14.91 million units, up 18.6% YoY. Washing machine exports reached 2.7 million units in February, up 18.1% YoY; cumulative exports from January to February totaled 6.1 million units, up 11.8% YoY. LCD TV exports reached 8.53 million units in February, up 34.4% YoY; cumulative exports from January to February totaled 17.69 million units, up 17.2% YoY.

According to the latest production scheduling reports for the three major white goods released by Industry Online, the total output of air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines scheduled for September 2024 is 26.62 million units, a 4.5% increase from the actual production in the same period last year. Breaking it down by product, the production scheduling for household air conditioners in September is 10.542 million units, up 8.8% from the actual production in the same period last year; for refrigerators, it's 8.02 million units, a 2.2% increase from the actual production in the previous year; and for washing machines, it's 8.06 million units, a 1.5% increase from the actual production in the same period last year.

The domestic sales market for refrigerators and freezers in China experienced a volatile trend in 2025. Due to pressure from the high base of the previous year, coupled with factors such as overdrawn demand and weak end-use consumption, the total annual domestic sales volume reached 58.27 million units, down 2.7% YoY. Among them, refrigerator products performed slightly better than freezers, aided by the continuation of the trade-in policy.

A CCTV reporter learned on June 12 local time that the US Department of Commerce announced it would impose additional tariff on a variety of steel household appliances, including "steel derivatives" such as dishwashers, washing machines, and refrigerators, starting from June 23. It is reported that the 50% tariff set for most countries will affect the import of these steel products, potentially leading to a rise in consumer prices. Industry stakeholders are closely monitoring the developments.

According to customs data, China exported 6.57 million units of air conditioners in March, a decrease of 4.6% YoY, and cumulative exports in Q1 were 16.78 million units, down 5.7% year-on-year.
