Currently, the renovation project at the Dalian plant has been completed, with improved capacity and quality control capabilities, which can better meet the demand for new energy brake parts in China. For overseas bases, the San Miguel plant in Mexico is setting up a high-pressure die casting production line, and the Hungarian plant is adding a low-pressure die casting production line, further enriching the new energy product matrix. In the long term, production line upgrades help reduce losses and improve operational efficiency.

According to data from the US International Trade Administration (ITA), UK aluminium scrap exports to the United States showed signs of moderation in the first quarter of 2026. Shipments totalled approximately 3,785 tonnes, down 9.8% year-on-year from 4,196 tonnes in Q1 2025. Export revenue also edged lower to USD 8.86 million, compared with USD 8.88 million a year earlier, representing a decline of 0.19%. As of March 2026, total US aluminium scrap imports reached 265,983 tonnes, with the UK ranking as the fifth-largest supplier and accounting for about 1.42% of total imports. Canada, Mexico, South Korea and Colombia remained the leading suppliers. The data suggests that the strong momentum seen in UK scrap exports to the US following Section 232 tariff exemptions has begun to moderate in early 2026.

According to data from the General Administration of Customs, in May 2026, China's copper enamelled wire exports amounted to 13,904.87 mt, up 14.84% YoY and up 1.38% MoM

In May 2026, China exported copper enamelled wire to 132 countries and regions, with monthly export volume hitting a record high for the same period in history. The top three markets were Vietnam, Japan, and Thailand, together accounting for nearly 32% of total exports; Vietnam’s exports slipped 2.5% YoY, while shipments to Japan and Thailand rose 27.7% and 19.8% YoY, respectively. Turkey posted outstanding export growth, with shipments reaching 908 mt in the month, surging 312.1% YoY and ranking fourth. Exports to South Korea, the Philippines, and Mexico all contracted YoY. Overall, export momentum for enamelled wire outside China remained strong in May.

Data released by the General Administration of Customs’ online query platform showed that China’s imports of copper cathode in May 2026 were 316,094.23 mt, up 0.09% MoM and up 7.99% YoY. In May, China imported 128,615.64 mt of copper cathode from the DRC, down 12.76% MoM and up 42.43% YoY. In May, China imported 29,851.08 mt from Russia, up 22.80% MoM and down 20.88% YoY. On the export side, China’s exports of copper cathode in May 2026 were 19,857.06 mt, down 22.45% MoM and down 41.14% YoY. In May, China exported 7,663.11 mt of copper cathode to Thailand, down 10.32% MoM and up 9.65% YoY. In May, China exported 4,600.10 mt to Vietnam, up 13.11% MoM and down 41.58% YoY.
