Appia Rare Earths & Uranium Corp. (CSE: API) is advancing its diversified portfolio of rare earth element (REE) and uranium projects in Canada and Brazil, providing materials critical to electrification and clean energy technologies. The company is particularly focused on magnetic rare earths such as neodymium and praseodymium, which are key raw materials for EVs, wind turbines, advanced electronics, as well as uranium. Its flagship Alces Lake project, located in Saskatchewan, hosts high-grade monazite mineralization, with reported total rare earth oxide (TREO) grades of up to 50%. The mineralization occurs at or near surface, enhancing potential economic feasibility and benefiting from proximity to the Saskatchewan Research Council's processing facilities.
Apr 1, 2026 14:14According to market reports, India’s Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) and Oyster Renewable Energy Limited (OREL) have partially commissioned a 315.6 MW hybrid solar-wind power project. The first phase (216 MW) in Madhya Pradesh is now operational, with the remaining 99.5 MW in Gujarat launching soon. Developed by OREL, the project entails a total investment of $211 million, including a $14 million contribution from JSL. This facility integrates bifacial solar modules and 3.15 MW wind turbines to ensure a stable clean energy supply for industrial use. Once fully operational, the project will help JSL reduce its carbon emissions by approximately 650,000 mt per year, highlighting its transition toward green stainless steel production.
Mar 31, 2026 19:44【SMM Steel】GMH Gruppe commissioned its second inductive single-rod tempering system (EVA 2) at its Georgsmarienhütte plant, completing a €21.5m investment. The new line doubles electric heat treatment capacity to 35,000 t/y, processing 35-100 mm bars for wind turbines and auto parts. Using renewable electricity instead of gas will cut CO₂ by over 50,000 t in a decade. The project supports its 2039 climate-neutral goal and received €2.2m in German federal funding.
Mar 23, 2026 16:30Recently, the European Commission has approved a €400 million state aid scheme for Greece aimed at supporting the country's clean technology manufacturing sector. The scheme aligns with the Net Zero Industrial Act (NZIA) and has been authorised under the Clean Industries Agreement State Aid Framework (CISAF). It will promote domestic manufacturing of technologies including solar panels, wind turbines, heat pumps, electrolysers, and carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) through direct grants and tax incentives.
Feb 26, 2026 09:43This week coincided with the Chinese New Year holiday, with most rare earth producers temporarily suspending external shipments and maintaining pre-holiday price levels. On the trading side, overseas inquiries increased in frequency, while domestic enterprises selectively took orders. Some companies, facing a shortage of spot resources, halted external shipments. In news, the opening of India's artificial intelligence summit became the hottest topic this week, with multiple countries announcing plans to strengthen rare earth mining to secure local supply chains.
Feb 20, 2026 14:49The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), the world’s largest derivatives exchange, is considering the launch of the world’s first rare earth futures contract, Reuters reported on 12th (local time). According to the report, CME is preparing a futures contract linked to neodymium–praseodymium (NdPr), a key rare earth alloy used in high-performance permanent magnets for electric vehicles and wind turbines.
