On March 12, PetroChina’s Tarim Oilfield “Aksu, Shaya County, Fuman Block PV Green Electricity Direct Connection Project” officially received approval from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region National Development and Reform Commission, making it PetroChina’s first approved green electricity direct connection project. Located in the Taklamakan Desert south of Shaya County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang, the project is a comprehensive green energy project integrating generation-grid-load-storage. According to the plan, the green electricity direct connection project will build a PV power station with a total installed capacity of 100,000 kW as the source of green power. To ensure stable power supply and reduce the curtailment of PV power generation, an additional 20 MW/80 MWh ESS power station will be added to serve as a super “power bank,” effectively smoothing PV fluctuations and ensuring continuous power supply to the load. Connecting the power supply and the power consumption side will be a planned 2.5-km direct power transmission line and a 110-kV substation.
Mar 16, 2026 17:23In January 2026, WELION New Energy’s European division formally signed an agreement with the renowned Hungarian electrical engineering enterprise ElektroEnergy Kft. to provide a supporting 6 MWh energy storage system for the latter’s PV power station. This signing represents another significant large-scale order for WELION New Energy in the European market, marking a key breakthrough in the application of its semi-solid ESS within the European PV power generation sector. The project will utilize an energy storage system built upon WELION New Energy’s 314 Ah semi-solid battery cells. This collaboration further deepens WELION New Energy’s footprint in the European ESS market, demonstrating its firm commitment to actively advancing the energy transition through technological adaptation and localized services.
Jan 9, 2026 14:16On December 16, the 5 MW distributed PV hydrogen production, storage, and refueling integrated project of Yue Shui Dian in Bachu County officially commenced operation and successfully produced hydrogen. This project was contracted by Hopo Engineering, a subsidiary of Hopo Co., Ltd., under the "EPC+O" (Engineering-Procurement-Construction-Operation) model. As the first full industry chain demonstration project in the Kashgar region of Xinjiang integrating PV power generation, water electrolysis for hydrogen production, and hydrogen storage and refueling, and also the region's first skid-mounted integrated green hydrogen demonstration project, it achieved a closed-loop across the entire industry chain from "green electricity to green hydrogen" and from "source-grid-load-storage." The project includes the construction of a 5 MW PV power station and a supporting hydrogen production plant, equipped with water electrolysis hydrogen production systems and hydrogen storage devices. It can produce 432 kg of hydrogen per day and is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 222.59 mt annually. The core equipment of the hydrogen refueling system (compressors, hydrogen dispensers, etc.) are all proprietary brand products from Hopo's subsidiaries. The project took only six months from winning the bid to commencing operation, achieving "commencement and hydrogen production within the same year." This is the third PV hydrogen production, storage, and refueling EPC project delivered by Hopo in Xinjiang, and it will contribute to the development of the local green public transportation system and the optimization of the energy structure.
Dec 24, 2025 14:39[Huawei Digital Power and SchneiTec Collaborate to Build Cambodia's First ESS Power Station] As a leading local energy enterprise, SchneiTec had previously successfully developed Cambodia's largest PV power station. The newly completed 12 MWh ESS project includes 2 MWh dedicated to validating Huawei's intelligent string-level grid-forming ESS technology in off-grid and weak power grid scenarios, ensuring grid stability, achieving smooth output of intermittent renewable energy, and obtaining authoritative certification from TÜV SÜD. This marks the implementation of Cambodia's first-ever grid-forming ESS project, laying the foundation for subsequent project expansions and large-scale energy infrastructure construction.
