Apr 19, 2023 09:17The ASX-listed junior exploration company Critica recently announced that its Jupiter deposit in Australia has become the country's largest and highest-grade clay-hosted rare earth deposit. Within less than 16 months, Critica conducted its first resource estimate for the Jupiter deposit. Based on a cut-off grade of 0.1%, the project's inferred ore resources are estimated at 1.8 billion mt with a total rare earth oxide (TREO) grade of 0.17%; while at a cut-off grade of 0.18%, the high-grade ore resources amount to 500 million mt with a TREO grade of 0.22%.
Feb 13, 2025 18:00Critica has shipped a 400 kg bulk sample to Vietnam, sourced from the Jupiter deposit in Western Australia. Concurrently, the Western Australian School of Mines at Curtin University will also commence a metallurgical research project. This process optimization is of great significance to Critica, coming just three months after the company announced the first resource estimate for the Jupiter deposit. It is estimated that the deposit contains 1.78 billion tonnes of resources with a grade of 1651 ppm TREO, including a high-grade core zone of 520 million tonnes at 2169 ppm TREO. This discovery positions Critica as one of the owners of the largest clay-hosted rare earth element (REE) deposits in Australia, with substantial reserves of over 280,000 tonnes of strategic heavy REEs such as dysprosium, terbium, and yttrium.
