As of September 11, 2025, finished product inventories at secondary lead smelters stood at 10,300 mt, a decrease of 2,200 mt from the previous week. Currently, production enthusiasm among secondary lead smelters remains sluggish, primarily due to weak market demand and unstable raw material supply. At present, the weekly operating rate of secondary lead smelters is below 30%, far below normal levels. Under these circumstances, many idled smelters have suspended long-term contract deliveries. To fulfill contractual obligations, some enterprises have had to purchase primary lead or secondary refined lead from other smelters for delivery. Weekly finished lead inventories at secondary lead smelters continue to decline, making it difficult to achieve effective accumulation in the short term.
