Output Loss of Pig Iron Increased This Week

According to SMM statistics, this week (May 6-May 12), the pig iron output loss caused by blast furnace maintenance stood at 933,400 mt, an increase of 88,700 mt from last week. Next week (May 13-May 19), the pig iron output loss is estimated at 865,700 mt, down 67,700 mt on a weekly basis.

SHANGHAI, May 9 (SMM) - According to SMM statistics, this week (May 6-May 12), the pig iron output loss caused by blast furnace maintenance stood at 933,400 mt, an increase of 88,700 mt from last week. Next week (May 13-May 19), the pig iron output loss is estimated at 865,700 mt, down 67,700 mt on a weekly basis.

The rebar output loss increased 38,400 mt to 746,700 mt this week and is estimated at 705,200 mt next week, down 41,500 mt.

In terms of HRC, the output cut grew 125,400 mt to 260,500 mt this week and is expected to dip 94,300 mt to 166,200 mt next week.

In terms of CRC and galvanising, the output cut was 34,800 mt, an increase of 9,900 mt from last week, and is estimated at 30,800 mt next week, a decrease of 4,000 mt.

In terms of medium-thickness plate, the output loss stabilised at 25,200 mt this week, and is expected to remain stable at 25,200 mt next week.
