Indonesia is becoming an important supplier of hot-rolled coil in Southeast Asia. It ships to domestic consumption centers such as Surabaya and to regional export markets such as Vietnam. However, the market still has no independent, transparent price benchmark for Indonesian-origin HRC. To improve coverage of Indonesia's HRC market and help market participants with procurement planning, price comparison, and cost analysis, SMM will launch two new daily price assessments for Indonesian-origin HRC SAE1006, effective from 12 October 2026.
