In response to increasing trade activity in brass billets across India and Asia, as well as growing demand for localized pricing assessments, Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) has conducted extensive market research and refined its pricing methodology.
To help market participants better monitor price movements in the Indian and Asian brass billet markets and to strengthen SMM’s research coverage across the copper value chain, SMM will launch a new weekly price point on September 23, 2026. Historical price data will also be updated simultaneously on https://www.metal.com/, the official SMM website.
The price point will be updated at 12:00 PM India Standard Time (IST) every Wednesday.

Brass Billets CFR China
A weekly spot price for brass billets delivered CFR to Chinese ports, quoted in USD/tonne.
We invite enterprises across the brass and copper supply chain to participate in and support this pricing initiative as SMM continues to enhance its pricing services and market coverage for the global refined copper and recycled copper industries.
