Dear Clients,
To provide a more comprehensive reflection of construction steel spot market conditions in Southeast Asia, enhance market transparency, and help industry participants better manage trading risks, Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) will launch a new ex-works (EXW) price assessment for rebar in Southern Vietnam, effective August 5, 2026.
Vietnam is one of the most dynamic steel-consuming markets in Southeast Asia. Its rebar market is supported by strong demand from infrastructure development, urbanization, and construction activities, while Vietnamese steel products are also becoming increasingly relevant in international trade.
