Dear Valued Customers,
Greetings!
To further improve the efficiency of accessing price information on SMM’s photovoltaic platform and provide a clearer view of PV module price levels and market trends across different regions, SMM will begin to upgrade and optimize the classification structure of its PV module price assessments by 28 July 2026. The details are as follows:
I. Classification Adjustment
SMM will divide the existing “Overseas PV Module” category into several regional categories, enabling users to locate and compare relevant price data more efficiently.
SMM Chinese Website:
The existing “Overseas PV Module” category will be divided into:
- China Net Export PV Modules
- Southeast Asia PV Modules
- South Asia PV Modules
- Europe PV Modules
SMM English Website
The existing third-level category “Module” will be divided into:
- PV Module – China
- PV Module – Southeast Asia
- PV Module – South Asia
- PV Module – Europe
II. Price Assessment Migration
- China Net Export PV Modules (Chinese Website): PV module price assessments related to China FOB exports will be migrated to this category.
- PV Module – China (English Website): PV module price assessments covering both the Chinese domestic market and China FOB exports will be migrated to this category.
- Southeast Asia PV Modules / PV Module – Southeast Asia: CIF Malaysia and CIF Indonesia PV module price assessments, together with the Thailand and Vietnam price assessments scheduled to be launched on July 31, will be migrated to this category.
- South Asia PV Modules / PV Module – South Asia: India-made DCR TOPCon and non-DCR TOPCon PV module price assessments will be migrated to this category.
- Europe PV Modules / PV Module – Europe: The 12 warehouse pickup PV module price assessments across Europe will be migrated to this category.
III. Benefits of the Upgrade
- Clearer regional comparisons: The new regional categories will allow users to compare PV module prices across China, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Europe, and other markets more directly.
- Improved search efficiency: The adjustment will reduce overlapping information and shorten the time required to locate specific price data.
- A more structured pricing framework: The upgrade will further improve SMM’s overseas PV module pricing system and provide more accurate references for market research, procurement decisions, and trade pricing.
IV. Migration of Historical Data
All historical price information under the existing categories will be migrated to the corresponding new categories. The continuity and completeness of historical data will not be affected.
Thank you for your continued support and trust in SMM. We will continue to optimize our products and services and provide more timely, accurate, and professional photovoltaic market information.
