Thank you for your long-standing support and trust in the SMM Steel Research Team. To continuously improve the rigor and market representativeness of our data points, we are expanding the pig iron production data in the SMM database : adding pig iron production data for 39 countries and regions. The data update frequency will remain annual (specifically, updating at 12:00 PM on June 30 each year).
The new indicators will be displayed under the following hierarchy: Ferrous Metals > Pig Iron
The newly added countries and regions include:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, UK, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, South Africa, Egypt, Algeria, Iran, India, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and New Zealand.
The above additions will take effect on August 15, 2026. After they take effect, you can view the latest data at data-pro.smm.cn or in the SMM database terminal.
