Since the beginning of this year, domestic market attention to 9-series NCM cathode materials has been steadily increasing. Rapid development in application fields such as drones, eVTOLs, robotics, and high-end power tools—all of which demand high energy density and lightweight solutions—has driven growing demand for 9-series NCM materials. At the same time, with continuous technological advancement and improved material stability, multiple domestic ternary cathode material producers have achieved stable mass production and delivery of 9-series products.
Based on comprehensive market research and data accumulation, SMM plans to add a new 9-Series NCM Cathode Material (For Consumer Electronics) price for the e-mobility and consumer market segments, effective July 1, 2026 (Wednesday) . This initiative aims to provide more timely and accurate price references and market guidance for upstream and downstream industry participants.
The specific definitions of this price point are as follows:
- Quality standard: Ni90% min, conforming to YS/T 798-2012
- Definition: delivered to consumer works, china
- Pricing unit: yuan/tonne
- Minimum transaction volume: minimum 30 tonnes
- Tax note: including 13% VAT
- Release time: daily, by 12pm Beijing time
Note: Currently, the 9-series NCM material market features a wide variety of product specifications. Apart from differences in metal composition ratios, factors such as single-crystal/polycrystalline morphology, particle size, sintering cycles, and additive usage may lead to notable variations in processing fees and quoted prices. The new 9-Series NCM (For CE) price introduced by SMM will reference the 900604 and 900505 models—the two most widely shipped specifications in the market—as benchmarks to reflect the overall market price level of 9-series NCM materials. Further segmentation by single-crystal/polycrystalline type or sintering cycles will not be made at this stage.
